Toyota cylinder heads built by LC Engineering in Lake Havasu City — Street Performer through Stage 5 for the 22R/RE, staged heads for the 2RZ and 3RZ, and Pro sets for the 5VZ and 3VZ V6s. Pick the engine first, then how hard you intend to work it.

Stage 3 Cylinder Head
Time to start pulling out the big guns! When you are ready to get serious about your performance, then you need a stage 3 cylinder head. This head has some pretty extensive...
Which engine, and what is the truck for? Every head on this page is engine-specific — nothing crosses platforms — and within an engine the stages are not "better and better", they are different trade-offs. A Stage 5 head on a truck that tows is worse than a Street Performer, not better.
22R and 22R-E
Five levels, and the honest summary is that most people want the first two.
Street Performer — the everyday choice. Better flow than stock without giving up low-end drivability.
Stage 3 and Stage 5 — these want cam, carburetion or injection, and exhaust to match. Fitting a Stage 5 head to an otherwise stock engine moves the power somewhere you do not drive.
Pro forced-induction head, 22R/RE/RTE — the one to use under boost. Different chamber and valve package from the naturally aspirated heads; do not substitute one for the other.
2RZ and 3RZ — Count the Intake Ports First
This is the mistake that costs people a return. 1996–2000 heads have eight intake ports. 2001–2004 heads have four. They are not interchangeable and the year alone will not tell you if the engine has been apart before. Look at the head.
V6 heads come as a pair and are sold without cams, so budget for cams and the associated hardware if you are not reusing yours. The 3VZ head gasket problem is well known and a fresh set of heads is usually the moment to address it properly rather than the moment to economise.
Bare, Assembled, and What Else You Will Need
A cylinder head is rarely a standalone purchase. Plan for head bolts or studs, a gasket set, and a valve adjustment once it has heat-cycled. If the engine has real miles on it, a head is money spent on the half of the engine you can see — consider whether a long block is the more honest answer.
