Which engine, and what is the truck for? Every head on this page is engine-specific — nothing crosses platforms — and within an engine the stages are not "better and better", they are different trade-offs. A Stage 5 head on a truck that tows is worse than a Street Performer, not better.
Five levels, and the honest summary is that most people want the first two.
This is the mistake that costs people a return. 1996–2000 heads have eight intake ports. 2001–2004 heads have four. They are not interchangeable and the year alone will not tell you if the engine has been apart before. Look at the head.
The same 8-port versus 4-port line runs through the supercharger kits for these engines. If you are doing both, check once and order both to match.
V6 heads come as a pair and are sold without cams, so budget for cams and the associated hardware if you are not reusing yours. The 3VZ head gasket problem is well known and a fresh set of heads is usually the moment to address it properly rather than the moment to economise.
A cylinder head is rarely a standalone purchase. Plan for head bolts or studs, a gasket set, and a valve adjustment once it has heat-cycled. If the engine has real miles on it, a head is money spent on the half of the engine you can see — consider whether a long block is the more honest answer.
Everything else for these engines: 22R and 22R-E, 3RZ, 2RZ, 5VZ and 3VZ.
Not sure which stage suits the truck? Tell us the engine, what the truck does, and what else is planned. The right head depends more on the rest of the combination than on the head itself.
